As a little girl, I wanted to grow up to be a doctor. There was some encouragement from my Korean parents, but mostly from working in underdeveloped countries in college and medical school. I began my journey in medicine as a college student delivering babies in Kenya and then in medical school, taking care of young kids in Cambodia. Initially, I wanted to be an international medicine/public health physician, but my dreams took a different path as I started my own family. During my internal medicine residency, I fell in love with dermatology.
Helping patients feel good and look their best as well as improving their skin issues is what motivates me. Besides working, I am passionate about fixing our healthcare system. I love to travel and be with my wonderful husband and 5 kids and 2 dogs.

Lori Ross, PA-C
Hometown: San Mateo, CA
Favorite Treatment: Botox
Fun Fact: I’ve been paddling Dragon Boat since High School
Lori is a board certified Physician Assistant who received her Masters in Medical Science from Northwestern University and her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry & Cell biology from University of California San Diego.
Prior to PA school Lori worked as a medical assistant in a dermatology office assisting with medical and aesthetic visits. During PA school she completed a rotation at the Northwestern Skin Care Institute in Chicago. Her love for patient care motivated her to volunteer at a free health care clinic and also work with underserved adolescents educating them on various health topics (including skin care!). After graduating, she moved back to the bay area to be closer to her family and is excited to help with your all skin care needs – whether it’s botox or a rash!
I have always enjoyed interacting and helping those around me. I originally wanted to obtain a PhD and conduct Alzheimer disease research after my grandfather passed away from the disease. However, after completing 3 years of investigative and clinical research for Alzheimer disease at UCSD I realized I missed working directly with people — I switched gears to pursue a career in health care.
Being a PA allows me to spend time with my patients; educating and getting to know them. Making my patients feel heard and cared for in addition to addressing their skin concerns is what motivates me. In my free time I love to cook and exercise, if you have a go to hiking area or recipe feel free to share it with me on your next visit!
