Before Your Treatment
Before your Clear + Brilliant laser treatment, avoid prolonged sun exposure for a minimum of one week. Otherwise, your skin would be more vulnerable to adverse effects from the laser. If you must be outdoors, first apply a generous amount of sunscreen.
Avoid the use of new skin care products in the week leading up to your laser treatment. Stick to only those that are gentle and work well with your skin type. You should also avoid the use of retinol products for one week before your treatment.
Your Clear + Brilliant Treatment
It should only take up to 30 minutes to complete your Clear + Brilliant laser treatment. It is normal to experience a mildly unpleasant sensation similar to hot pinpricks. Immediately after your treatment, your Premier Aesthetic Dermatology provider may apply an antioxidant serum to your skin to enhance the effects of your treatment.
Following your treatment, it is normal to experience some minor redness and swelling. This will be most evident on the first day or two. Using a cold compress for one hour after your procedure should help minimize swelling.
Treatment Aftercare
During the first week after your treatment, use only mild cleansers and light moisturizers. If your skin starts peeling, let it happen naturally without scrubbing, rubbing, or using exfoliants.
Avoid the use of retinols, glycolic acid, and scrubs for one week after your treatment. You should also be using a good sunscreen for the prevention of sun damage.
Would I make a good candidate for this treatment?
If you are unhappy with facial skin aging, or want to prevent it, Clear + Brilliant may work for you. Those in their late twenties make the best candidates for preventive skin aging, while patients in their thirties and forties are best suited for the regenerative benefits.
How long does a treatment take?
Treatments typically take between 15 and 30 minutes. If a topical numbing agent will be used, it takes about 30 minutes to take effect.
When will I notice results?
You should notice some immediate results, with cumulative improvements after a few days, and after a few sessions.
